Just returning from a whirlwind 2 week trip where Bernadette Wallace and I competed in World Cup 1 in Szeged, Hungary and 2, Racice, Czech Republic.

With all of the Europeans using the World Cups as their major regattas for the huge lead up into World Championships in late August, it was always going to be tough competition and a great measure for where we are at Internationally and especially this early in the season. We finished up with some results to build on at World Cup 1 – with a 5th K1 1000m, and 9th K2 500m.

Next it was onto Czech where we had a win in K2 1000m and 9th K2 200m. In my K1 events I finished with a 10th in the K1 500m and 2nd K1 5000m. Both regattas provided some solid races and a great experience to see what speed these girls are going at and what we will be up against.

We are back in Aus continuing with preparations for the June selection event in Sydney, with the focus on World Championships in Duisburg, Germany late August.
